PUBLIC SPEAKING AND DEBATING
Debating promotes confidence in oral presentation and teaches structured argument and analysis- skills that are essential for all English students.

Speaking skills are developed in a variety of oral presentations and debating activities. Students in Years 8 to 12 compete in the Debating Association of Victoria (DAV) Schools Competition. Junior students are involved in the Beginners Program offered by the DAV.

Students from Years 7 to 10 also participate in a College based Public Speaking Competition each year. Students also participate in Rotary Public Speaking Competitions and other external competitions. In 2005 the B - Grade team narrowly missed out on the Regional Finals having won all but one debate throughout the season.
