The beginning of Year 7 can be a very anxious and daunting experience for both students and parents. Therefore, the Year 7 Transition Program aims to make this an educational and positive experience. The first term is really a term of settling in with the Swimming Carnival, Athletics Carnival, camps and Ash Wednesday celebrations to help students and teachers get to know each other.

This is achieved by having a Homeroom Teacher that takes at least two or three subjects in that Homeroom. Boys remain in their Homeroom for all their subjects except for Physical Education, Music, Design and Technology.

The Homeroom Teacher is there to greet the students first thing in the morning with roll marking and briefing notices. The students get to know the Homeroom Teacher well and is usually the first person they go to if they wish to discuss anything. The Year 7 Co-ordinator's Office is always open to Year 7 Students at all times.

All the staff at Salesian College are friendly and will listen to what our students have to say. Our philosophy of kindness, reason and religion is present in all areas of our community. We make time for the boys, we encourage them to do their best, we build their self-esteem and confidence.
